Onsite Facilities at Compass

The project site consists of five buildings undergoing sustainable refurbishment and an outdoor area with polytunnel, composting toilets and volunteer shelter. Our facililities continue to grow as the site develops.

Volunteer Hub

We have a volunteer hub with space for snacks / lunch in comfort, and toilet facilities. There is currently no drinking water onsite so please bring your own.

Please don’t bring any valuables with you as there are no secure storage options onsite.

Tools & Equipment

Compass staff will provide you with any necessary additional protective items for onsite volunteering activities such as gloves or eye protection. Any tools you may require will be available onsite.

Bicycle Parking

We are in the process of creating secure storage space for bicycles onsite. Please remember to bring your own bike lock to use whilst you are on the premises.

Electric Vehicle

Thanks to generous funding from the Just Transition Participatory Budgeting Fund (Scottish Government funding), and public vote, we have our very own 8-seater electric vehicle. If you are struggling to reach the site, we may be able to offer a pick-up and drop-off service along with support of our Volunteer Drivers.

Parking

Parking onsite is limited. Please only use this where you have mobility issues.

Onsite: On arrival, follow the driveway through the trees until the area opens out. The parking area is located in front of you, between the multi-purpose hall and the main building. Please reverse park where possible and be aware of your surroundings as there may be other people including volunteers with learning disabilities onsite.

Offsite: There is parking available on the access road near the entrance of the site. If you park here, please respect other users and park appropriately as the access road also leads to private housing. Once parked, walk down the driveway to find us onsite.
