What’s happening at Compass right now!
We are running a series of healthy eating workshops in our zero-waste kitchen at North Point for participants of our Skills for Health programme. These use our organically-grown garden produce where possible and aim to provide practical, hands-on experience of preparing delicious, healthy food to enjoy. We hope to open these up and extend them to a wider audience over the next six months.

Past Workshops:
Discover what we’ve offered at Compass in the past couple of years:
Dry Stone Walling
- 10 sessions delivered by local professional, James Watt to date with further staff-led sessions
- 55m of renovated wall, of which 12m built from scratch, with 29.5m in progress
- 66 individuals upskilled
Since the workshops, staff at Compass have continued to pass on these skills to volunteers and have now completed 58m of dry stone wall renovation. Get in touch if you would be interesting in joining any of these guided sessions.
Thanks to another successful workshop in March 2025, a further 10 metres of wall has been restored to full height!
Great guidance, very friendly. I enjoy the satisfaction of seeing the end result / helping a local charity.
Excellent! Everything very well explained.
Great event. Staff very knowledgable. Excited to start no dig method.
Wreath Making Workshop
Run by Compass staff for the last two winters, Compass volunteers were instructed step-by-step to produce professional-looking wreaths using natural products for their festive celebrations.
“I thoroughly enjoyed it and loved learning and
making something new. It has definitely inspired
me to make my own versions for future Christmas’s.
